With an inn full of guests including friends from our home town of Wilmington, DE, we had a very successful, well-attended, fun culinary class and Saturday night dinner! The weekend started with a trip to the local farmer's market to gather squash and mushroom varieties! The class included stock preparation, roasting root vegetables and the "how to" with a variety of mushrooms from exotics to buttons. Those in class also took part in the preparing a marinade and prepping for Braised Lamb Shanks, one of the evenings entree choices. Last but not least, the tricks of "perfect" pie pastry and an Inn favorite, Apple Blackberry Pie! Throughout this quiet season we will continue to host these special culinary events, each with a different theme and variety of recipes!
